First post about work...yahoo?
For some reason I was feeling pretty good at work. Not sure why, there certainly was a horde of nasties calling Customer Service. There was one that I had to give to the "supervisor" cause she thought I was lieing. Haha.
When there are a ton calling it's kinda funny to just, whilst running around, never sit down...even when you normally would...knee on chair, foot crooked on floor, phone pushed against your head while both your hands pull down a 10 lb book and type entries into the computer.
And nothing matches the charm of looking at your watch as though it'll tell you how many people are in the queue and quickly discovering that not only does it not tell you the number of people in the queue but it tells you that you have 4 hours left.
Or looking at the real queue to see how many Customer Service agents are on versas the number waiting in hopes to sneak off down the hall for a fragment of what was supposed to be dinner.
Or some days it's just so quiet there is nothing better to do than read MSN news because...I am too much of a whip to play games in case I am not supposed to be on the internet at all...
Actually I really do like work. It is kind of an adventure...who is going to be on the phone next? A raving lunatic bride or a 98-yr old southern lady without internet access calling from a pay phone...or just the usual computer illiterate type?
Just put your feet up if it's a long one and look up a few numbers to transfer when the going gets tough. Facial expressions aren't held against you - defintely...freak out the neighboring fellow work mate with detailed visual descriptions of disgust, horror or hysterics whilst talking calmly and happily to the one at the other end of the wire!
Don't misunderstand me of course...I take transfers seriously!
